A guided tour of the factory which makes a very famous cake, you will taste their selection of excellent sweets made of honey and wallnuts\u2026<\/li><li>15:30 visit to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pivovarkonicek.cz\/galerie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kon\u00ed\u010dek&nbsp;<\/a>\u2013 a small private brewery \u2013 guided tour and tasting&nbsp;with the possibility to buy a souvenir<\/li><li>18:00 dinner in the restaurant Radost in Hav\u00ed\u0159ov<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wednesday 3rd April 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>8:00 departure to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ostrava\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ostrava&nbsp;<\/a>\u2013 third biggest city in Czech Republic<\/li><li>9:00 Film festival \u201cOne World\u201d in Cineport where we will see a documentary \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jedensvet.cz\/2019\/download\/trailers\/mp4\/927.mp4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Anote\u00b4s Ark<\/a>\u201d about people from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kiribati\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kiribati&nbsp;<\/a>affected by climate changes<\/li><li>10:00 walk around the former industrial area (<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20160707010558\/http:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/tentativelists\/1560\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UNESCO&nbsp;<\/a>world heritage) which was transformed into a unique open air museum called \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lower_V%C3%ADtkovice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lower V\u00edtkovice<\/a>\u201d \u2013 we book a tour if the kids are interested or we can just walk to the city centre, visit the town hall with the highest&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitostrava.eu\/en\/discover-ostrava\/viewing-tower\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">view tower<\/a>&nbsp;in the country. Possible shopping in a nearby&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.forumnovakarolina.cz\/en\/list_of_shops\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">shopping mall<\/a>. You can have a snack there in many fast food restaurants if you feel hungry or bring your own snack.<\/li><li>16:00 departure back to Hav\u00ed\u0159ov<\/li><li>17:00 restaurant Balon in Hav\u00ed\u0159ov with a small private brewery (possible guided tour for teachers and tasting) and dinner for everybody at about 18:00<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thursday 4th April 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>7:24 departure of a direct&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.regiojet.com\/services\/services-on-board-of-trains\/relax.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">train&nbsp;<\/a>to the capital city of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Prague\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Prague&nbsp;<\/a>(so we should leave the hotel at 6:45 and you will get a picnic packet instead of breakfast). There is a good and cheap service on board (great coffee for free) so you can eat and drink on the way. Check out the prices&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.regiojet.cz\/data\/sluzby-ve-vlaku\/data\/pruvodci\/standard\/#p=14\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>. We will not stop for lunch in Prague as we would not have much time to see the sights, you can buy something on the way, on the train or bring your own snack. In the evening again you will be able to eat on the train from their menu (sweets, sushi, salads\u2026).<\/li><li>11:13 arrival in Prague, walk along the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wenceslas_Square\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wenceslas Square<\/a>&nbsp;down to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Old_Town_Square\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Old Town Square<\/a>&nbsp;with the famous&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Prague_astronomical_clock\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Astronomical Clock<\/a>&nbsp;and then across&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Charles_Bridge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Charles Bridge&nbsp;<\/a>to the largest ancient&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Prague_Castle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">castle&nbsp;<\/a>in the world. Then we will continue to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pet%C5%99%C3%ADn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pet\u0159\u00edn&nbsp;<\/a>through&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Strahov_Monastery\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Strahov&nbsp;<\/a>and go down to the river again, cross another bridge past the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dancing_House\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dancing House<\/a>&nbsp;and go to the train station where the train back to Hav\u00ed\u0159ov leaves at 17:47.<\/li><li>21:29 arrival back in Hav\u00ed\u0159ov and walk to the hotel (15 minutes)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Friday 5th April 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>9:00 workshop with eTwinning ambassador on using the platform with lots of useful tips and ideas for our work. We will also evaluate our meeting and plan further steps.<\/li><li>12:00 lunch at school<\/li><li>possible afternoon meeting with the Mayor of Hav\u00ed\u0159ov (still unknown time and place)<\/li><li>free time activites prepared by the CZ students<\/li><li>18:00 bowling (no problem to cancel if you feel tired)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Students and teachers again will have a chance to meet personally and become familiar with the Czech school system and its positives or negatives (the personality of J.A.Comenius will be discussed). They will take part in field trips to the surrounding places of interest and monuments connected with the topic of the project (i.e. open air museum of folk art and architecture). They will visit the local industrial heritage site in Doln\u00ed V\u00edtkovice in Ostrava where steel factories and coal mines are closed now (influence on unemployment here). Why was Ostrava called \u201cSteel Heart of Europe\u201d and now it is not? In what way the industrial towns change after the production is closed down? Migration of labour force to bigger cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants will get to know Czech culture, traditons and history with the emphasis on industry because CZ school is located in a very industrial part of the country where lots of steel factories and coal mines were closed bringing unemployment to the highest level in the country causing social problems including high crime rate and social exclusion in poor neighbourhoods.
